The Salon is the first of many via our collaborative venture "The Design Collective Salon". We love supporting people and creating community so we are curating the gathering accordingly.
The Salon will host a blend of creatives who can support each other. Our collective mix will drive how connections are forged.
The night will be intentional. So.. we will facilitate a “plug-in” conversation which shines a light on you and your creative pursuits.
Sharing will grow your Design Sphere and enhance your business. Don’t be shy!

The Design Collective is excited to host Karen Jaw-Madson at our Second Salon on October 10th.
Karen Jaw-Madson, author of Culture Your Culture: Innovating Experiences @Work and Principal, Co.-Design of Work Experience will kick off our next salon by sharing her expertise and how it relates to design. Come prepared with a "wicked problem" you are struggling with and we will choose among the group to co-design new possibilities in this highly interactive meeting of brilliant minds.
(A wicked problem is a problem that is difficult or impossible to solve because of incomplete, contradictory, and changing requirements that are often difficult to recognize)
We are looking forward to developing our community of Boozers & Foodies with a leaning toward Design.
If you know us, you will understand... if you don't, be afraid (only kidding)!
Heroes and heroines are often given three choices or three tests. They overcome challenges on the third try. We’re all familiar with the expression “third time lucky”.
The last two Salons that TDC hosted proved to be effective and entertaining. Our active passion for community and creative potential will dictate the curation of this – the heroic, lucky third – Salon, and the first of 2019. The purpose of the gathering is to foster re-connection and collaboration further and to evolve ongoing.
Freedom and flow are inherent to the Salon’s mission and so the collective mix of guests will have the space to determine the quality and depth of communication, connection and collaboration. The night will be intentional: we’ll facilitate a plug-in conversation that will allow us to shine a light on our creative pursuits. Sharing will firmly grow your Design Sphere and enhance your business.Take a leap, and the net will appear!

Thank you to all those who attended!
In our consistent pursuit of bringing the industry of design and community together in light of collaboration, TDC’s 4th Salon will be graciously hosted at Feldman Architecture’s new headquarters.
All roads lead to the centre of community. The TDC platform offers an opportunity to learn about the true sense of community in its Salons by navigating the necessary layers inherent in communication and collaboration. This, ideally resulting in the greater purpose of a rich and complex depth of connection between creatives.
Join us over a few hours with drinks of your choice to meet the community and to discuss the fabric that connects us in design and how to optimise this by collaboration.
The evening will kick off with a familiarizing ice-breaker: a spirited discussion facilitated by Iris Charabi-Berggren, MFA, ACC (Certified Co-Active Coach & Mediator).
About Iris:
My undertaking is to promote Emotional Intelligence skills designed to enhance leaders at all levels. I support startup founders, seasoned executives, and individuals who are committed to personal growth and to creating a healthy ripple effect in their professional and personal circles.
In my work and life I care deeply about ethics and kindness. Often on a hunt for resonance and meaningful encounters. Play is a high value and I use it in the service of learning and teaching.
I am bold, creative, and compassionate, a hybrid of two strong yet complementary cultures. I believe in curiosity, intention, and keeping one’s heart and mind in a state of flux.
In the spirit of the The Design Collective tradition, we would like to invite you to join us at TDC HQ in Bernal Heights (aka chez Melodie).
As the birthplace of our quaterly Salons, it is befitting to gather and commune as we welcome the long awaited San Francisco Summer.
Salon 05 will be informal and spontaneous. The depth of exploration and connection will be fostered by freestyling peer to peer curiosity.
Each invitee has their own unique story, professional brilliance and perspective. Let us be catalysts for eachother in the true spirit of the "unconference".
Eaves dropping is encouraged. No kick off, no agenda, just the opportunity to fill the space with eachother. Yep...... it's an interactive "free for all"!
To bring: Plus One + drink of your choice to share

The holidays are over, It’s a new year and I'm ready to be inspired and reconnect with some wonderful, like-minded creatives like you.
In the spirit of creativity, our friends Paul Dawson and Tim Clinton, from Dawson+Clinton have generously offered to host this salon at their beautiful project on 18th street near Dolores Park.
Check out our co-hosts work: Dawson+Clinton : http://www.dawson-clinton.com
Jeremy Stoner will facilitate a short exercise on storytelling + connection. We will work through how we tell our own stories, how to connect with the stories of others in meaningful ways and how we need to re-author our own stories as we go.

To Bring: A like minded "Plus One" or more!
